پاکستان اور امریکہ کے تعلقات کی تاریخ دوسری جنگ عظیم کے بعد کے دور سے ہے، جب پاکستان 1947 میں ہندوستان سے الگ ہونے کے بعد ایک نئے ملک کے طور پر ابھرا۔ امریکہ نے اگست 1947 میں پاکستان کو ایک آزاد ملک کے طور پر تسلیم کیا اور پاکستان کے ساتھ سفارتی تعلقات قائم کر لیئے۔

پاکستان کے سیاسی منظر نامے میں یہ تاثر عام ہے کہ حکومتوں کے بننے اور ٹوٹنے میں بھی امریکہ ملوث رہا اور امریکہ کی آشیرباد کو حاصل کئے بغیر حکومت بنانا ممکن نہیں ہے ۔
اس کے بعد سے، امریکہ نے انسداد دہشت گردی کی کوششوں میں مدد کے لیے پاکستان کو اہم فوجی اور اقتصادی امداد فراہم کی ہے۔ تاہم پاکستان کی جانب سے عسکریت پسند گروپوں کی مبینہ حمایت اور پاکستان میں امریکی ڈرون حملوں سمیت مختلف مسائل کی وجہ سے دونوں ممالک کے تعلقات کشیدہ ہیں۔

The history of Pakistan–US relations dates back to the Second World War, when Pakistan emerged as a new country in 1947 after being separated from India. The United States recognized Pakistan as an independent country in August 1947 and established diplomatic relations with Pakistan.

During the 1950s, the US played an important role in Pakistan's economic development by providing financial and military aid. The US also encouraged Pakistan's alliance with the Western bloc during the Cold War.
In the 1970s, Pakistan's relations with the United States were strained due to American support for India during the Bangladesh War of Independence, which led to the separation of East Pakistan from West Pakistan.
In the 1980s, Pakistan became a strategic ally of the United States in the war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. The US provided significant military and economic aid to Pakistan to support the Afghan Mujahideen in their fight against Soviet forces.
In the 1990s, the United States imposed economic sanctions on Pakistan over its nuclear weapons program. However, after the 9/11 attacks, Pakistan became a major ally of the US in the war on terrorism.
There is a general belief in the political scene of Pakistan that the US was involved in the formation and fall of governments and it is not possible to form a government without taking the blessings of the US.
Since then, the United States has provided significant military and economic aid to Pakistan to aid in counterterrorism efforts. However, relations between the two countries are strained due to various issues including Pakistan's alleged support to terrorist groups and US drone strikes in Pakistan.

In recent years, the US has also been concerned about Pakistan's growing ties with China and its role in the region. Overall, relations between Pakistan and the US have been complex and volatile due to geopolitical and strategic circumstances.
